Hey all.... so I created a splash page as a 'Under Construction' page for a site I am doing. I couldn't get the DNN install (4.9.2) to hit the index.html page unless I renamed the 'default.aspx' file. Once I did that the index.html page came right up.

Now I would like to be able to log into DNN so I can make the changes needed, how do I achive this since I had to rename the default.aspx file. I know there is a way, I just can't find my notes on it.

Thanks

Another way you can do this is by placing your custom "under construction" page in your roof folder and name it "app_offline.htm"

There may also be other ways to do this, but this is the way I've done it in the past.

Okay, chaning this to the app_offline.htm worked great, but now how do I get back into the site to make the mods I need before removing the app_offline.htm file? I have tried the whole URL plus....

/Home/tabid/37/Default.aspx    &
Home/tabid/37/ctl/Login/Default.aspx?returnurl=%2fDefault.aspx

Not sure what else to do to get back in..... I know this is DNN 101 but I can't find my notes. Thanks...

app_offline disables the web site, there is no option to get into your portal, as long as it is in place. your initial attempt with index.html would allow this, you need to make sure, index.html is placed first in the default documents order in IIS Web Site configuration.
