I have somehow lost all of the password for my site. I cannot log in as any user except for new users. The user accounts exist and the profile data is correct, but when I try to change the password as host I get this error: A critical error has occurred. Bad Data. And when I try to have it send my password I get this error. There was an error retrieving your password. No password was sent. I have access to the DB, but cannot find the table that contains the pw data. I have one user that works that I created after this occurred, and I made the account a superuser by editing the DB. I am using DNN 4.9

Passwords are held in the "aspnet_Membership" table.

If you are wanting to reset the password do the following:

  1. Make database Backup
  2. Verify Backup
  3. Create a user account with the password you want (using the web portals registration form)
  4. Open the "aspnet_Membership" table
  5. Copy both the Password and PasswordSalt from the new account to the old one
  6. Restart IIS
  7. Login

I hope this gets you where you need to go.
