Hello,

I installed DotNetNuke_Community_04.09.02_StarterKit.vsi,

I have VS 2008.  I set up a web application on IIS,

I created a new web site and used the DNN template option.

I went to the URL of the site created above.

I went throught the steps to install (opting for the SQLExpress choice)

It installs successfully, and I get the splash screen.

This is my question.  Now what?  It seems like the only link that works is home (and the search) page.

What is the next step?  What documentation should I be reading to take it from here?

please advise.

You need to login as Host or Admin and start designing you portal.  If you look on the home page around the bottom you should see how to login and follow the instruction on changing your password.

Thanks for your reply.

I logged in as both admin, and host. in each case, after logging in, it returns me to the same "home" screen I got before I logged in.

What should I see if I log in as admin?

What can I check if it doesn't take me to the desired screen?

Thanks

Mark

In your navigation menu at the top you should see ADMIN and/or ADMIN HOST (if logged in as host). From these menu's you design your site and site settings.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.  What do I do if I'm logged in as admin or host, and I cannot see the Admin or Admin/host (respectively)?  When I'm logged in as admin, the only item across the top is the red  "Home" button.

What can I do to get these other buttons to show up?
