MYSQL

Hi,

I am considering different hosting options for my website and want to use DNN. One option offers the .net1.1 framework with MySQL and MS Access databases. My question is will DNN operate successfully in this environment?

Thanks

At present, DNN 3.x runs on ASP.NET 1.1. However, it does not have an MS Access or MySQL dataprovider. It requires MS SQL (2000, 2005, 2005 SQL Express [which is free]).

Hi,

Thanks. I have sql express on my local machine with VWD express. Do you know if SQL Express can be installed on a hosting server. It would be a lot cheaper than paying for sql2005. I only intend running relatively small sites nothing too heavy

You will have to check with your hosting company. If they offer SQL 2005 as a 'premium' service, than I would doubt they would offer Express for free.
