anybody know where I can find a caveman? I must be back a little bit in the evolutionary deal.

I'm trying to RTFM, but 1) I can't find it, 2) what I did find has not been updated since 2006

Does there exist such a document, er manual?

How about one that let's me pretend that I know what I am doing and just gives me the "Here's what DNN needs from this step."

My first install was done using my service providers 'built in' automatic deal. I fixed some of the problems (I was really hoping that there were going to be none. Silly me.) But now I'm stuck on an error (my post for it is out here somewhere) that is equivalen to "syntax error". ie, it tells me that something is wrong, but it won't tell me why, when, how.

I stopped trying to use DNN a few years ago because it would not install correctly. I really don't want to re-invent this wheel which is what I started out doing.

I'm going to try doing another install using whatever doc i can find. Actually, I'm going to use the one from the new DotNetNuke 5 book.

But it sure would be nice if there was an Outline type doc that you could drill down in to get more help if you need it. Or is that what Open Source means. You want it, you make one, share it with us...:-)

You haven't fully stated it, but reading the post one assumes you are trying to install DNN.

If you google via your personal computer : "how to install dotnetnuke" you might find something...

Or you could try getting in the pedal powered car going to:

Google is your friend. Hope this helps .

BTW if you have an error... google that error, add the words "DNN" or try "DotNetNuke".

you might try to install DotNetNuke using Microsoft's new Web Platform Installer (Web PI), available at www.microsoft.com/web.
