I would like to have a simple news letter subscription module on my site. Does any one know how to do this? the users should simply write their name and email address and subscribe to a general news letter.

i appreciate some guidelines on this.

or Axon from Onyaktech will do the simple stuff as well as, when you need it, the not so simple stuff -

Derive a target list via SQL query, for example; create dynamic (personalized) content tokens to inject different data into each person's email based again on sql query; etc. I can't imagine that such features won't become desirable at some point; so I'd tend to get something that does the basic opt-in, opt-out stuff as well as more when it is needed.

We also use Axon for most of ours, but a free and simple option is to build your own using OpenWebStudio.

I've posted a sample configuration here in their forums, which has it pretty much setup to run - with double opt-in subscription too.
