While installing dnn in ftp domain, i got an error "access to path C:\Domains\Gullyrhino.com\wwwroot\web.config is denied and could not find a part of path C:\Domains\Gullyrhino.com\wwwroot\Config\Backup_2009418543\Webconfig"

If the permission access is set for web config file, Config folder, Install folder, Bin folder, App_Data folder, Default.aspx and Default.aspx.vb will be enough?

Because my domain provider has to set permissions for my files. Hence i want to confirm?

Any suggestion or solution. pls replay asap.

Thanks,

Swaminathan,

Web Application Engineer,

Personally it is best if you can get DNN to have FULL permissions to the root of the site, especially for installation.

Otherwise you MIGHT be able to get by with

/Bin
/Config
/Install
/DesktopModules
/Portals
/web.config
/siteurls.config

But this is a bit of a tricky situation.

I don't have to deal with a host, I have my own equipment in a data center but whenever I make a DNN site all I do is grant the user  "Network Service" the appropriate rights to the root where my site will live.

Are you sure you are putting the files into the proper directory?  If you put in a default.html page can you access it? Simple question, but sometimes people miss the obvious (I have many times)

Yes Mike,

I have put the files in the right folder viz. wwwroot folder of my ftp domain.

Once permission is set on the files specified by Mitch, i will test the installation and get back to you both.

Mitch, thanks a lot for the suggestion.

Thanks,

Swaminathan.

Hi Mitch,

I have set permissions for all tho files and folders that you have specified.

In the installation wizard, permission tests and data base connection tests are successful.

But during installation following error comes:

Installing Database - Version 5.0.0...FAILURE 400 - Timeout expired.  The timeout period elapsed prior to obtaining a connection from the pool.  This may have occurred because all pooled connections were in use and max pool size was reached.

If i install by running install.aspx then same error comes as shown below:

Awaiting your suggestion asap.

Thanks,

Swaminathan
