If you install a spanish language pack and make it the default language for a portal, the Documents module localizes the classnames when it generates the markup. This will make a skin that references the classes non-portable between portals of different languages. What is more, the translations in spanish use accented letters which are not legitimate css characters, causing the styles to be ignored.

Css classnames should not be localized, they are code and should remain in the product's default language.
