I would like to merge multiple RSS and XML feeds into one feed and then display it as a news stream to the first page. Furthermore I would like to format it consistently with a timestamp, icon, username and title. Is that possible with the module and if yes how could I achieve that the best? Are there good example of the modules or tutorials or similar?

Hi Jens,

As far as I know there is no way to get the xml module to read 2 xml files or to have the xslt read an external xml file. I have to pre-mix my incoming xml, using an external proxy page .

Or for RSS feeds, I am using Yahoo Pipes to make an aggregate feed,  and consuming that with the News Module/rss reader.

Tom is correct, News module 4.0 has been turned into a feed aggregator, however it reqires feeds to follow RSS standards quite strictly to be able to aggregate it.
