Hi Steve,

Thank you for all your good work on the Repository Module. It is by far the best module in DotNetNuke and that includes commercial modules.

I have one question. How can I link to a document in the Repository (in my HTML text) so that when a visitor clicks on the link the document opens in a new window, and the repository counts it as a download? Direct linking works but the downloads are not counted.

Please help.

I'm not sure there's a way to put together a link that will download the file and increment the download count.

You could put a [PERMALINK]token in template.html, that will create a link that you can use elsewhere, but clicking on the link will take you to the page with the Repository module on it, and the module will be filtered to only show that file. Then the user would click on DOWNLOAD and the file will be downloaded, and the download count would be incremented

Thanks Steve,

Can you please elaborate on the [PERMALINK] token method? And would it be possible for you to consider the solution above? Just as they did it in the Documents Module?

Thanks again.

I would like to see this possibility.

Xadoa, for [PERMALINK], you need to edit your template and to add this token. Then, you will have a "permalink" in your repository, and you can direct people directly there. See an example here: Permalink for one of my repository file.

Thanks, Thank you DV FX. I have seen the example. Will use that for now.
