Hello!

Is this possible to have the blog on a page but separated in 2 content panes. First content pane will have a picture and some text and the second content pane will have links. Something like "Picture of the day" and "links of the day" with the possibility to see archives (links and pictures from another date), and leave comments on the bottom of that page.

Regards,

Danyel

Hi Danyel,

the module Blog can do this, and provide the archive with all the features of searching past postings by month, by date, etc. But you'll need to use custom markup to visually split every post into two "containers". You could use a table with one only column and two rows, or two divs separated by a line... I am not a styling expert, I think you may end up with a much better solution for this.

Best regards,
Dario Rossa

Hi,

Thank you for your answer. I'm still a n00b on DNN. Can I ask you to explain me wath you mean with custom markup?

Hi Danyel,

if you are adding your posts to the blog via the web interface (live on the website) you can use the text editor to create a table where you place your contents split into two cells, like this:

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisici elit, sed eiusmod tempor incidunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua. Ut enim ad minim veniam, quis nostrud exercitation ullamco laboris nisi ut aliquid ex ea commodi consequat. Quis aute iure reprehenderit in voluptate velit esse cillum dolore eu fugiat nulla pariatur. Excepteur sint obcaecat cupiditat non proident, sunt in culpa qui officia deserunt mollit anim id est laborum.

If instead you are adding your posts using Windows Live Writer, you can benefit of the nice features that it offers to create tables and insert pictures and even picture albums that are hosted on Live.com.

Best regards,
Dario Rossa

Thank you again for your fast answer. Because i'm not sure we're talking about the same thing (excuse me english is not my native language) i made you a picture of what i'm talking:

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

#3 Will be a calendar date picker. When a userclick a day in the calendar:

content pane 1 now shows the picture for that day chosen

content pane 2 shows links for that date chosen

after the links there's a place for user's comments, for the date chosen.

Is this still possible?

Regards,

Danyel
