So I have read this post from Mr. Washington and it worked ok.  Ran into problems and the Network Service didn't work so I had to use a local account on that particular server.  Not a very good solution I don't think but it works for the time being.

Second thing is I am working with IIS 7 and want to have at least 2 websites on one server.  One would navigate to port 80 and the other would be port 81.  How would I configure (IIS and DNN) my sites to work?  For ease lets say website1.com navigates to port 80 and website2.com navigates to port 81.  I'm new to having 2 + parent sites running on one server.  I now it can be done, just never done it.

I suggest to use Host Headers (domain names) assigned to the IPs in IIS web site configuration instead of port numbers.

If you want to use DNN multiportal feature, you may assign all host headers to the same web sites and assign portal those as portal aliases to the appropriate web sites - and DNN will open the correct web site for you.

Thanks for the suggestion Sebastian!  Right now the sites are not published outside of our local network so I can get them developed, will that matter?

no, if you need to access it from multiple machines inside your LAN, you may add the domain address to your DNS, if you just need to use it locally you may add the address to /windows/system32/drivers/etc/host file as alias (just add the name after localhost separated by spaces). I use this to install multiple DNN versions on my vista machine to address it using http://dnn493 or http://dnn501b3

If you are using WindowsXP, i suggest to use free IIS admin pro from www.jetstat.com
