login as superuser ("host") and enter Host Settings. if the version is not listed, go to SQL and enter:

SELECT * FROM {databaseOwner}{objectQualifier}versions

Highest number represents current installed version.

This post got me thinking ... especially since I will be presenting "DotNetNuke SQL Tip and Tricks" at DayofDNN (see www.dayofdnn.com)

try this query to view the version number and date of implementation:

select
    Cast(major as varchar(2)) + '.' + cast(minor as varchar(2)) + '.' + Cast(build as varchar(2)) as [Version Number],
Convert(varchar(17), Createddate, 113) as [Implementation Date]

         -- '113/17 = dd mon yyyy hh:mi
from
    {databaseOwner}{objectQualifier}version
where
    versionid in
   (
     select  max(versionid)
     from {databaseOwner}{objectQualifier}version
     group by Convert(varchar(17), Createddate, 113)
   )
order by
    versionid desc

generates

Version Number Implementation Date
-------------- -------------------
4.8.3          31 May 2008 10:09
4.8.0          25 Jan 2008 20:58

This will display all the Upgrades and when they occured.  Obviously the most recent record will be the current version.

Paul

PS.  Hope to see you at Day of DNN ...

Here is the result of the query from another site

Version Number Implementation Date
-------------- -------------------
4.9.0          21 Sep 2008 13:37
4.8.3          08 Jun 2008 11:22
4.6.2          08 Jun 2008 11:20
4.5.5          13 Sep 2007 11:10
4.5.3          01 Jun 2007 09:01
4.5.1          17 Apr 2007 09:09
4.5.0          16 Apr 2007 11:42

Notice the two updates on 08-jun.  This is the reason to convert to the datetime to format 113 - but just use the first 17 characters.

Sebastian - will miss see you.   And it's true it is far for a day trip, but I couldn.t resist as I doubt I will make OpenForce this year <sniff>
