I have a DNN site that I set up as a parent portal. I realized to late that I need this to be a child portal of another parent portal. Can I turn a parent portal into a child portal and how do I go about doing that?

Yes, in the Host settings you can go to Basic Settings>Host Details>Host Portal

Under those setting there are 4 choices:

Host Portal  - This has only one possible drop down selection and that is the name of my portal.
Host Title - This reads the name of my portal
Host URL - This reads my URL
Host Email - Email

I am not sure wow I can use these settings to make this a child portal.

I did not create the original portal off of the other and label it a "parent" It is a completely separate DNN Site.

I appoligize. I was not clear on my set up.

Have you invested a lot in creating the seperate DNN site that you want to be the Host Portal?

If not, just create a new portal,  and switch around the host, then start building from there. Some modules on the second portal you are migrating may have export capabilities to XML files that you can then move those files from the source portal root folder to the target portal root folder and import the contents.

Depending on how sofisticated the site, you could make a template out of the site, move the template files to your target site and use the Wizard features of DNN to make a new portal from the template.

Other than that, not sure how you could just "merge" the two.
