Hi

I wanted to take a back up of root folder and db of my online portal website and run it in local.

I have taken the back up of root folder and moved it to the location where my local dnn is installed and connected to iis and also connected it to local back up db. when i run my local website it  is getting redirected to my online website.

Awaiting your suggestion asap.

Thanks,

Swaminathan,

Web Application Engineer,

It's probably doing this because when you access it locally it goes to the domain name that's on the internet.  You need to give the install some sort of "dev" portal alias.  Once you have dev.steadfastglobal.com or something similar, you should access the host file on your computer and point the alias you just added to the 127.0.0.1 IP address (or whatever IP you gave it in IIS).  The host file is located at Windows>system32>drivers>etc>hosts, open up hosts in notepad.

The other option is to see if your install is the default IIS website locally so you may want to try to open up a browser and just go to "localhost".

Good luck>
