I would like to change our portal alias -

Our old site was currently at mysite.com and we created a development portal called mysite.com/development

- but when we go live we don't want users to see the /development part so would like to either:

1.  change /development to /site

or
2.  perhaps do a redirect to /development

I'm not sure if this is possible or what implications there would be
e.g. all pages created are preceeded with the name /development - will DotNetNuke automatically change this prefix name to /site ?

thanks,
mark.

Where is the DNN installation completed to?  Is it directly in the mysite.com/development folder, or is DNN actually installed to mysite.com?

If it is installed directly to mysite.com/development, it is pretty easy.  Add the new alias, rename the portal, validate display.  The biggest risk would be text/html modules that reference the full url.  For this you can use one of the free tools available to find/replace to fix the broken links.

DNN is installed on our own live web server, and we use a virtual directory to point to the installation.
So i guess it's directly installed to mysite.com.
