I would like to create a news page, where I can put some news. And display sorted by date. The latest news will be on top.

Then on my home page, I would like to display 3 of the latest entries.

Is there any modules that enable me to do this?

Out of the box, DNN has packaged announcements module, you can use to enter and display your news.

Besides there are advanced 3rd party modules like NewsArticle from www.ventrian.com or MagicNews from www.portalfabrik.net, which include more features like categories, filtering, newsletter sending, multi language support etc.

i have already looked at the annoucement module.
but its does not allow me to list out the 3 latest entries in homepage.
therefore i am looking for alternatives.

seems like NewsArticle and MagicNews are not free?
any free modules to recommend?

 there is  no free alternative, I know about it, cheapest option should be ventrian subscription (which includes a bunch of other valuable modules like Simple Gallery, Property Agent and more).

Set in your setting the xml tab to allow to to get a feed, go to feedburner and place the feed and then in publish go to buzz boost and set to 3 the number of feeds, adjust other settings such as length , title ect you want , then grab the script and bring it into your front page by using the txtx html module, create a table and place the script inside of this. Just one way.
