Try adding your machine name as a portal alias machinename/dotnetnuke

Login as a super user (host) and go to the admin/site settings page to find the portal aliases.

Trying to solve the redirect to localhost problem froma remote machine.  I am running IIS on port 85.  I try to add an alias:  machinename:85/dotnetnuke - but I can not add this alias ('The Portal Alias is invalid').  Can dnn be run on a port other than 80? If so how would the appropriate alias be added?

What am I missing in changing HTTPAlias in PortalAlias table?
For me, the most common task is to copy the content of website and to launch it from copy ( I use \App_Data\Database.mdf).
It is valid both for launching DNN samples from articles or books, as well as for development.

I cannot launch this copy (and go to login) before I modify PortalAlias table, or can I?
How?
