Hello,

I have installed DNN and I would like to use a REPORT MODULE with an EXCEL File. I have read that it was possible to use REPORT MODULE with a lot of DataBase. I suppose it is possible to launch a SQL string on an EXCEL table.

I have copied my EXCEL File in FILE MANAGER and I tried to connect my REPORT MODULE on it. But I have few problems. Could you help me please if it's possible ?

In the (REPORT MODULE) SETTINGS, in REPORT SETTINGS, I have put the following items :
Active Data Source: Generic ADO.net Data Source
Ado.net Data Provider : ODBC Data Provider
But I don' know what could I put in Connection String and Parameter Prefix.

What could I do ? Where could I find an Help File

Thanks for your answers ?

I always use this site to find Connection Strings: http://connectionstrings.com/

The parameter prefix can probably be ignored, unless you plan to use the UserId, ModuleId, TabId, or PortalId parameters provided by the Reports Module.  If you do plan to use the parameters, I believe the parameter prefix for Excel is probably "@"

I am trying to do the same thing.  I think I have the connection string formatted correctly but now am not sure how to format my SQL queries for Excel.  This is probably a bigger question than this forum but I was hoping someone has done it specifically with the Reports module before...  Thanks.

I already answered my own question.  to get everything a simple "select * from [sheet1$]" works (for anyone else who stumbles across this thread).
