I'm using the Links module and have encountered a problem: because I would like the links module to only appear for registered users, I applied the appropriate user permissions for the module.

However, the tracking link is accessible to anyone to download and does NOT reflect the permissions set on the module. The result is that this allows those requesting the link (in this case, to a downloadable .zip file) directly to bypass the tracking. So, there are a number of anonymous downloads when I track who has downloaded the files...

Is this a known issue? Or, by design? Any way to resolve this so that I can be sure to lock down access to only those that have registered?

This seems like a security hole...

Thanks,
- Jeff

 Jeff-
Have you used the ADMIN->FILE MANAGER module to set the protected files' directory VIEW permissions to only allow the REGISTERED USERS group?
