Hello,

We've recently upgraded our DNN software to version 04.09.04, text/html module 04.08.01.

Now when I create a link to an e-mail address (insert link, link type e-mail), and I fill in a e-mail address, message subject and message body, I receive an error message, when clicking on the link. When placing the cursor on the link, in the below bar the following line appears:

location.href='mailto:'+String.fromCharCode(101,109,112,64,110,108,46,121,111,107,111,103,97

To me (I'm not very technical) this doesn't look okay.
Can anyone advise me?

Thanks in advance,

Regards Bart

this is by design to avoid email addresses being caugt by Spiders. if there is an error, there might be an issue, does the list of numbers end with ")" ?

Dear Sebastian,

No, the list ends with a apostrophe, please see example:

location.href='mailto:'+String.fromCharCode(114,........,109)+'?subject=Work%20Instructions&body=Dear%20Rob%2C%0D%0A'

If this is by design, meant to avoid email adresses caught by spiders, I would like to switch it off, because we're using DNN as our Intranet environment, so there's no risk.

Could you advise me how to switch this off?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Regards,

Bart

what is the error messsage you get when clicking the link? Please note, that prefilled body is ignored or rejected by many email clients nowadays.

Okay, but we didn't change our e-mail environment, and before the upgrade it worked fine.

When clicking on the error message, I get the following details:

Line: 1
Char: 195
Error: Unterminated string constant
code: 0

Does this information help you?
