Enter the IP address as a portal alias, including the port number.

Hi Jeff, I will make the change, but another question is:

  1.  does DNN handle the wildcard symbol just incase the IP changes.  I assuming only the last number will change.
  2. and is there away internal in DNN to convert the IP address back to my domain name to display in the users address bar?

On the other not, what do you think about this.  I running Windows Server 2008 Std with Hyper-V.  My production web server runs Windows 2008 Web Server in a VHD.  I can create another VHD as a router to recieve the initial connect from port 8080 using the default website and redirect the connection to DNN using my domain name defined in the host file.  This way DNN will recieve the correct alias and the doman name will display correctly in the user browser?

Will this work and do you have any suggesting?
