I think we've hit the crossroads point now... Of course dogfooding is exactly what it is on the tin... Dotnetnuke.com tests it out, and suffers the problems for itself so we don't have to.

NB I'm not getting forum SMTP notifications on forums either (have reported this).

Within a couple of weeks time (or less) I'm confident problems will be ironed out.... this is a big release, and the great thing is that the community has really contributed and spent a great deal of time helping the core team fix issues which otherwise would not have appeared on the map until much later.

Now it's really up to dotnetnuke.com to find out the real world issues in a production environment.

Don't forget we are still due for a forums upgrade here I think... not sure when this is going to happen, but people can see there has been some activity in the tracker - so be assured it is not lying in limbo.

I have to correct, that I do see a decrease in performance today, but it seems to affect support.dotnetnuke.com as well - which means, that this might be caused either by the platform or an increased system load of the new platform version, which needs to be ironed out before the final version.

I didn't experience DNN.com being slower than typically in the past, and not more issues than usual, i.e. about a handful of error messages per day.

is this considered normal in the web developer world? :s

no, this is not "normal", but dotnetnuke.com is a high traffic site. I never experienced significant issues on the German user group site or any of our commercially hosted sites - but all of them mostly use 3rd party modules from professional developers (like ActiveModules, Ventrian, Portalfabrik, Effority)

I am sorry, I have no knowledge about the server configuration, but assume, that the sites at least share same SQL server.
