Hello

I've been trying to install the latest stable version of DNN.  I keep getting errors saying i need to add Network Services to the root folder and all its child folders.  Done.  Still doesn't work.  If i add the group Everyone and give full permissions it works.

I noticed in some posts people mentioned IUSR.  I added this user and gave it basic permissions as told. Still didn't work until i gave the user full control.

What exactly am i doing wrong here?  Several people in various forums said you shouldn't do this as it's insecure, but it seems to be the only way of getting anywhere in the installation.

I can't post the exact errors as the work place server seems to be down at this moment and i'm at home. 

I've had several different errors the main one was:

DotNetNuke configuration error.
If using Windows 2000 - IIS5
- the {Server}\ASPNET User Account must have Read, Write, and Change Control of the virtual root of your website

If using Windows 2003 - IIS6
- the NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE User Account must have Read, Write, and Change Control of the virtual root of your website"

After i added IUSR with basic permissions i get into the install process but when it got to the test permissions part the above error (or something like it) reappeared

I was also getting the error 'Could not access C:InetPub/wwwroot//DotNetNuke.config

I'll have to check the IIS configuration when the servers back up later today.

Nothing is write protected. Ok i've got it working but IUSR still has full control is this ok?  It stops working when i remove them.  Does this pose a security risk?
