Tagged Content 1.4 is DotNetNuke Tagging and Knowledge Management solution.

It allows to tag almost any type of content on your DotNetNuke portal. You can tag:

  • DotNetNuke Pages.
  • Individual blog posts, individual forum threads, forum groups, Wiki pages. (Existing modules like blog, forum, etc. don't need to be modified. )
  • ........
  • any content on web page that have unique url, like product pages, news, downloads, documents details, etc.

Tags and tagged items are shown on tag cloud, they can be filtered by adding tags to filter.

How it works - shortcut:

Imagine common scenario, blog module and blog posts you want to be tagged.
All you need to do is to:

  • Put PageTagger module on blog page (at top or bottom of the page) and configure it (it's easy - 1 minute configuration).
  • Click on blog post title to see post details.
  • Enter tags names for that blog post in PageTagger module and save them.
  • Repeat for other blog posts.
  • Put TagCloud module and see tag cloud for your website, see tagged items list (blog posts, pages), browse tag cloud by clicking on tags.

New in 1.4 version:

  • Base portal tags: Administrator can set 'base' portal tags, these tags will be used for the entire website, these tags are obligatory and added automatically for all content being tagged.
  • Integration with core DotNetNuke Wiki module.

New in 1.3 version: New module Related Tagged Content shows content that is related (tagged with similar/close tags) to currently displayed

Tagged Content could be extremely useful when your website will grow, more and more content would be added, it will allow to manage all knowledge on website and maintain relationships between posts, articles, pages, etc. via tags assigned to them.
You can see it in action (Related Content) on my blog page, it’s especially useful on individual blog posts – it shows content (mostly other blog posts) related to current post. It’s located on the page bottom and right pane.

Please see Project page, download and try Free version, buy at SnowCovered.

Main Features:

  • DotNetNuke tagging (categorizing) solution. You can tag almost any DotNetNuke content: web page, individual blog posts, forum posts, wiki pages, product pages, any content on web page that has unique url.

  • No changes to existing modules (like blog, forum, wiki).

  • Display your website Tag Cloud and tagged items (pages, posts, ..), navigate through tag cloud.

  • Related Tagged Content - automaticly display related tagged items (tagged with similar or close tags).
Tagged Content is simple Knowledge Management solution.

  • Tagging taxonomy: you can define 'base' portal tags obligatory for whole portal, you can define additional base tags for particular pages (ex. tag 'Blog' for all blof entries).

  • Flexible Tag Cloud: you can have many tags clouds on different pages, confiugured to some subset of tags.
Example is tag cloud only for blog posts and another tag cloud for whole portal.

  • Flexible navigation solutions.
Example from my website: you can create one global Tag Cloud for whole portal, dsplaying tags and tagged intems.
You can create another tag cloud on main portal page, only with tags, redirecting to global tag cloud.
You can create another tag cloud on blog page, displaying only blog tags, redirecting to global tag cloud.

  • Programming API to use Tagged Content in your own solutions. For example, you can implement tagging ability in your custom module almost at no cost, and use Tagged Content API to assing / retrive tags to your custom content
  • Detailed features list can be found on Tagged Content Wiki, release notes are here.

Tagged Content consists of three modules:

  • Page Tagger module - it shows assigned tags to page for 'readers' and for 'editors' handles adding / removing tags and specifiing name and description of content(item) being tagged.
  • Tag Cloud module - it shows tag cloud, allow to navigate through it and filter tags and tagged items by specififiying (adding) tags to filter.
  • Related Tagged Content module - shows content that is related (tagged with similar/close tags) to currently displayed
