can someone explain the strange behaviour of the DNN scheduler.
I know it only runs when the portal is active, but it is a fairly busy portal, so this cannot be (the only) cause.
But for example the PurgeCache task is set up to run every 3 hours, yet it shows this in the history:

So it runs 5 times and then again after 4 hours ?????

The search engine is set up to run 1 time per day, yet it has multiple entries for 1 day

I've got another task which should run every 5 minutes, but it looks like it only does about every half hour or so.

A few questions for you.

  1. Are you in a web farm environment?
  2. If #1 is true, have you setup a servername for each task, to prevent multiple runs?
  3. What scheduler mode are you using?  (Host -> Host Settings -> Other Settings)

Mitch,

We are running into the exact same issue where jobs are running multiple times within the same second.  We are running in a web farm environment and have set the jobs to run on only one server.  I have verified from the Schedule History table that they are running on just one server however multiple instances of the jobs are running at the exact same time.  The Scheduler mode is "Timer".  Please help.

Thanks,

Chhavi
