Hi

There is a section on our site where we want people to basically tell us about experiences they had. We supplied an e-mail address where they can send it to, but I'm worried that if we get a lot of users, I won't be able to manage all the e-mails coming in.

We want our users entries to be "instant".

The feedback module looks like our best option. I entered something and submitted it, but it desplays my e-mail address. I don't want to give out our users e-mail address. Is there anyway around it with this module?

There's also an option where you enter your name, but it doesn't appear once your entry is submitted. I would like there name to appear. Is it possible?

I would also like our users to have an option to enter there state/country and for it to appear when they submit their entry. Can this option be added?

Are these things possible with the feedback module or is there another module we can use that would be better suited for what we want to achieve?

if you need a couple of customizations, you might look at form and List module (successor for UserDefinedTable in DNN5) or a 3rd party forms module for DNN4

In our version of DNN, there isn't a form or list module.

We are currently on DNN 04.06.02

Should we upgrade to a newer version? Won't we loose our data and current setup if we upgrade?

Is the 3rd party form module for DNN4 under another module name?

"form and List" is available for DotNetNuke 5 only and it is the successor of "User Defined Table" module wih a forms mode added.

Unfortunately, there is no DotNetNuke 5 version released for production use yet, current version is 4.9.2. I strongly suggest to upgrade to this version for security reasons - upgrades have become quite easy (backup all files and database, download upgrade package and unzip it hierarchically into your web site, overwriting existing files. Browse to your homepage will start the backup process and you are done).

To get a forms module for DNN 4, I suggest to have a look at free Helferlein form from www.helferlein.com, which allows you to create a form easily.

We have the community edition. (4.6.2)

I see on the DNN site, that version 4.9.4 and 5.0.1 is available.

Can we upgrade to version 5.0.1 and keep our data and setup if we (backup all files and database, download upgrade package and unzip it hierarchically into your web site, overwriting existing files. Browse to your homepage will start the backup process and you are done)?
