Hello. I have problems with Blog module.

I tried it, but after all, don't have any idea how to use it properly.

The module itself is divided on different sections, which seems to be independent: ViewBlog, BlogLIst, SearchBlog and BlogArchive.

My first step was to place this module on a new page. I selected module from the list, specified where to place it, and it was done.

Next, I created new entry in the Blog.

After that, I wanted to create another entry. To do that, I went to  the page with blog, under the New_Blog, I clicked on New Entry. There, I have some form to fill down.

One of these fields is called: Parent Blog, a drop-down list. It contains the name of my first blog.

The problem is, that I don't want my blog entry to be a child of the first entry, shown in that drop-down.

Can you advise me please on how to do it?

For example, let say I created a blog entry that talks about sport cars.

Now, I would like to add another entry, (another instance of Blog?) that will speak about military airplanes. As you can see, these two entries have nothing in common. And I don't want that article about military airplanes has Sport Cars as parent.

Is it possible? And, how to do this in the correct way?

Thanks in advance.

I finally found it.

1) Create a blog

2) Go to the Blog settings

3) On the bottom of the page, create child blogs in the Child Blogs section

The issue is resolved.

Also check out the helpful introduction to the various modules installed at:
http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/795/forumid/92/threadid/6068/threadpage/1/scope/posts/Default.aspx

What these are used for are not that obvious when first installed, so I often refer back to Scott's helpful post..

Hi there,

My problem was the same as you... It seems you haven't fixed it at all because when you create child-blog it doesn't apperar on your blog list nor on your blog search tool !  I really have to know how to create a complete new blog subject for those blogs to be seen on other child blog modules...

Hope I express myself clearly ?

Please help :) !!!!
