I'm trying to make a two language website. One english, the other spanish... I was thinking on installing two dnn... one in root/eng and the other root/spa. Is this the best way to do it? or is there a way I can just use the same installation to put same info in two different language and have people select the lang that they want?

Thanx.

you shouldn't use separate installations, but either an single bilingual portal or an installation with 2 portals/branches of a portal, each dedicated for one of the languages (and maybe  a landing page in root, where people can select). The first approach allows easy administration and is preferable, if site structure and content will be the same for both sites, the second is preferable, if both sites are individual by management and content.

We offer a free solution that will enable you to have 2 branches, 1 for each language, inside the same portal:

Localization Extensions Overview
Localization Extensions Video Presentation

If you have any question on our solution, please use our support forums.

Does this only work with user's browser language? What if i want users to select language first on a homepage?

Ok. To make two portals. I already have english version ready. Is there a way I can "copy" this portal to the spanish so I can just change the ext inside the modules and the english version to stay as it is?

Another thing? Shoult I create a basic HTML in root for people to select language or do u reccomend another way?
