Any newsfeed I try seems to return the same:

News Feed Is Not Available At This Time. Error message:Unable to connect to the remote server

I know I have valid news feeds and the only thing I can imagine is that it has something to do with being behind the company firewall, but I would suspect that this shouldnt be a problem as I can read the rss in a browser no problem.  Any advice.?

Is the news feed local to your server or network?  I have experienced this error on some of my internal staging/qa servers when I try to access another feed on one of them, but other people outside my network could access them fine.  It had to do with internal DNS settings.

The newsfeeds are external to my network  Any internet newsfeeds such as google, digg, or anything else just do not work. This seems strange to me as I can go out to the sites and see the xml feeds just fine from the same network so I wouldnt think there would be any problem.  Anyone know of a fix for this.?

Were you able to find a fix for this?  It would be nice if there was some documentation to detail what kind of network configuration the module expects to work with (i.e., open ports, dns settings, host file settings, etc.).

Are either of you running behind a proxy server such as Microsoft ISA?
