I'm just starting to search for this same thing: the editor often seems to put in "  " entities into the html source of an html block. I could see it if it were necessary for putting in multiple spaces - which could then get stripped out as extraneous whitespace I suppose - but this happens in many other instances when editing.

It is ugly, but I've lived with it for over a year, on multiple sites that I've upgraded from the early 3.x versions of DNN.

But now I think this may be leading to actual errors in the wiki module, so would like to figure out if there is a way to avoid these extraneous #160 entities?
