Lets says user John belongs to role1 and role2. I have a text/html module on a page that is available to registered users and John is a regitered user. The text/HTML module is viewable by members of role1 and no one else (role2 members cannot view it). So in that case, will John be able to see that text/html module? Thanks in advance

If you are working in DNN 4.x, John will be able to see a module that is only visible to users in role1.

In DNN 5.x, the concept of Deny permissions were added, you can setup a module that is visible to members of role1 but denied to all other roles.  In that case, John would not be able to see the module (the deny permission for role2 would override the allow permission for role1).

Hope that helps,
