What is the intended and correct use of the Providers subdirectory in the bin directory of the DNN 5 distribution packages?

For provider nodes in the DNN 5 web.config file such as "members", "roles", and "profiles", does the "providerPath" attribute refer to a compile-time directory or a run-time directory?

Thanks

The reason for the subdirectory is that all dlls in the bin get loaded by default.  So to minimise the working set the dlls in teh sub directories only get loaded when needed.  Provider path is the runtime directory.

Hhhhhmmmm.... well this situation remains unclear.

Note that the bin directory has a single subdirectory called Providers.

However, the web site root directory is the only one that has a subdirectory called Providers that itself also has two more levels of subdirectories that correspond to the entries in the web.config file for those providers that do have providerPath attributes.

And when you look in these subdirectories, it seems that most of them only have license files and nothing else, although for example, the SqlDataProvider did have a whole bunch of sql install files for the database.

So I'll await a more complete explanation from whomever on the Core Team can provide... or else the always promised documentation whenever it appears
