Folks,

I would like to create a directory for a specific role to upload media files using file manager, but I can't seem to get this to work.

I created the directory in file manager and gave it write permissions for my media manager role.  Then I allowed the media manager to see the file manager page in the admin directory.

The media manager can see the file manager and directory fine, but does not have upload permissions.  I've tried everything I can think of, and still only admin and host have upload permissions on this directory.  I even gave upload rights to every directory in the file tree from root to the specific directory and the media manager still has no upload rights to any of them.  What am I doing wrong?

I'm on DNN5.1.  Thanks!

I discovered that putting a file manager module on a new page (not the one in the admin menu) fixed it.  The new module works as expected.  However the admin module still only allows admin and host upload, even if I give access to that page to another role.  Go figure.  This workaround is good enough for me.
