I'm not having much luck with links within the editor...

All i'm trying to do is have a link that opens to an external site in a new page...

this is what the source ends up looking like

<p><a href="/Dotnetnuke/LinkClick.aspx?link=http%3a%2f%2fwww.msn.com&amp;tabid=39">this is a test link</a></p>

and this is what comes up in the browser

http://our_server_name_/Dotnetnuke/LinkClick.aspx?link=http%3a%2f%2fwww.msn.com&tabid=39

any idea what i'm doing wrong?

do not use "browse Server" for external URL and use "Target" option in Insert Link dialogue.

I am having an issue with LinkClick but only with PDF files.  JPG files are handled fine with link click.

If I hard code the URL they load fine.  If LinkClick is used, I get a blank screen.

Anyone else have this happen?  Better yet, a solution.

Thanks

I thought this was a common issue.  I keep reading the Links Forum and I see a post that says don't post about PDF Issue.

I have a few DNN Installs and I have issues with most if not all PDF downloads where LinkClick is used.  If I use a direct URL.  It works fine.  The install I am most interested in getting resolved is running 04.09.00.  I have another site running 04.09.04 with the same issue.

I read somewhere that trying to SYNC in the File Manager migh resolve it.  Tried it  - Did not resolve it.

LinkClick works fine with other file types such as .jpg
