Hi,

Today i saw a strange behavior in my test portal when i tried to install a new custom module, everybody knows that all dnn modules has a dnn file, so when i install the module it show me this:

Info Loading MyModule.dnn
Info File MyModule.dnn read successfully

But then in the same installation show me this:

Info Created C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\DnnInternet\DesktopModules\MyModule\MyModule.dnn.config
EndJob Files created

The dnn file change for dnn.config file and i don´t know why this happend!!, anybody knows the reason of that?

Thanks,

That happens so that you don't have the option to install the module again, as it is already installed. But the file still exists if you want you can simply rename it as .DNN again and "import module definition" again.

Also, the .config file is not downloadable, whereas the .dnn file is. This makes your site a little more secure, as the .dnn file can reveal the complete filestructure of a module

Hi, thanks for your answer, now i understand this behavior, But this feature is for this version of dnn o later? cause i have a portal in dnn 3.0.13 and it doesn't change the file.

Again, thanks!!

i think it was en enhancement of dnn 4.6 or something. mind you: dnn 3.0.13 is very very very very very very old. Lots of things changed since then, this is just a minor one...
