Hello everyone..

I have just started playing with url rewriting and has gone through several topics on the web.

Some topics suggested about settings in the Host Settings > Advanced Settings > Other Settings.....

Some topics suggested to make changes in the SiteUrls.config.

Bit confused. Which is the better option ?

And is this possible to rewrite a dotnetnuke url like

http://www.mysite.com/Default.aspx?tabid=56&CategoryID=24

to

http://www.mysite.com/abc.html

I mean to say with the url rewriting can we rewrite the dnn url to .html page.

Any suggestions or topics to start working with.

Thanks

Thanks & Regards -- Palli

if you want to change the file extension, you need to configure IIS web server appropriatly, otherwise the request doesn't get forwarded to the appropriate handler. Easiest change is to enable humanfriendly URL in web.config.

Please give me the solution for this case. I have a page which name is Giới thiệu. The current link is http://localhost:1234/MySite/.../Giớithiệu.aspx.

However, I want to change it to http://localhost:1234/MySite/.../Gioi_thieu.aspx.

Where should I change in the code to apply the rule for it?

Thank in advance.

I am using DNN version 5.1.0 in my local. It means default rules for friendly url are available in web.config.

I tried to add my method in global.asax.vb. And I have desired url in the browser. However, it can not be found.

The resource cannot be found.

Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.  Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.

I also tried to modify function FriendlyUrl in DNNFriendlyUrlProvider.vb but I failed.
