Since version 5 of DNN (ie 5.0.1 and 5.1.0) when I select a module to Display Module on All Pages, it also appears on every admin page.  I'm guessing this is because now the admin pages are just like normal DNN pages but its annoying to have to go through each one and delete it.

Is this intended behaviour or is there a quick way to just show it on public pages?

I fear, this is "by design" - though not the desired behaviour for most applications and it is changed behaviour.

please post an enhancement request into the public issue tracker (2nd from top) at support.dotnetnuke.com.

I suggest, improving the "show on all pages" flag should be preferable:

  • show on all pages
  • exclude admin pages
  • show on all descendent pages

I have the same issue. My admin zone is littered with modules displayed in all pages of the site.

Any news on this?
