I have a UDT module (running DNN 4.9) and I have it working pretty much the way I want.  Users can add only one record and they can only edit their own record.

One unfortunate trend recently is that a few users have created or modified their entries to contain bogus and sometimes harrassing information about other users.

I can see where I can use a token to pre-populate some fields as default values but I dont know how I can lock a field down so that just that field cant be edited when they go to edit their own record.

What I am looking to do is something along the lines of what the ChangedBy field does where it automatically captures some of the user information but cannot be edited.  I tried actually making that field visible and using that as the Name field in my UDT but then realized that if I go in and change that person's entry on their behalf, then their name is now filled with my info.

My only working solution now is to make the ChangedBy field visible so users can see just who made the change and know if it was really that person or not.  This works but adds some additonal text to the grid which is kind of clunky.

Any thoughts on how I can lock down a field?

form and List (UDT 5) does contain a feature of private columns, but it requires you to upgrade to DNN 5.

Thanks.  I am sure that will be something we will probably do later this year so that will be a nice feature to look forward to.
