I have 4 event Calendars (locations) on my site that feed into one "Master Calendar (List View only)"  on my home page. The events that I am creating (shift booking and scheduling)  should only be able to be view by role.

Example:

There is 4 locations with events scheduled to be viewed by role FF1
There is 4 locations with events scheduled to be viewed by role FF2
There is 4 locations with events scheduled to be viewed by role FF3
all on the same day. When a person in the FF1 role logs on, I only want them to see the FF1 events. Is this possible? Using DNN 4.9 and Events 5.00.1

TIA

Glenn

The rights of the master calendar module defines the visibility of the events that are displayed, not the rights of the underlyning subcalendars.

You can have 1 page with 4 event modules (for the 4 roles) and define the visibility of the modules based on the role. So one role will only see 1 of the 4 event modules.

So let me see if I have this correct......

If I have 18 different roles, I would have to have 18 different  "Master" calendars on a page that are visible to only selected roles. ?????? And then on each of the "location" pages, I would have to have 18 more calendars????

For example, here is what I am trying to acheive

Location 1                                                         Location 2                                                         Viewable by Role
Shift open for FF1                                       Shift open for FF1                                                              FF1
Shift open for FF2                                       Shift open for FF2                                                              FF2
Shift open for FF3                                       Shift open for FF3                                                              FF3
Shift open for FF4                                       Shift open for FF4                                                              FF4

I hope I am making myself understood. Basically what I am trying to do is make a calendar so that each fire chief can make up his/her needs for the week for firefighters. There are about 18 different types of firefighters that are looking to pick up shifts from any of the fire halls. So, what I would like is that when a firefighter signs on, a calendar comes up on the front page that shows him the shifts(events) that he/she is able to fill. Does anyone know of  any module that will help me do that?

Thanks
Glenn

I think 18 is more than I expected for the proposed solution.

I am not sure what you mean by "lcoation" pages.

The locations refer to different Fire halls. So, there are 4 fire halls and say 70 people that fit into the 18 roles. What they are trying to do is to allow the 70 people to go on line and "book" certain shifts as long as their role allows it.  The front page will contain a "Master Calendar" showing all shifts that their role(s) will allow.  Alot of the people don't really care what firehall they work at that is why they have to be able to see all of the "locations".

thanks for your continued help.

Glenn
