Hi,

I have a existing intranet website developed in asp.net 2.0 and Oracle (NO DOTNETNUKE),

Now I am trying to use dotnetnuke portal for Intranet new, forums, etc.

1. Is it possible to integrate dotnetnuke with my website and use same login (my existing website)

2. Is possible to/ or good to have two different databases (my existing website using oracle and nuke uses SQL Server)

3. With in the dotnetnuke, can we use different Databases?

4. Anybody uses Web services with Nuke? Any documents available?

Thanks

1) Depends on how much integration you want.

2) DNN will only use 1 of them (MSSQL), but your modules can access as many as they need. As for it being good to - Depends on time/cost/effort.

3) See 2.

4) http://iweb.adefwebserver.com/

A little expansion on 1 - If you want to actually integrate the sites where you log into DNN and then can access the old site and not have to re-loging, probably not without changing how one of the two systems validates the user. If you just want to port over the existing users into DNN, there are 3rd party modules that can help with that. Integration is really a gray zone since it depends on how much you want to integrate vs recreate vs modify ect.

Venkat,

there are a couple of 3rd party modules for this purpose, even free ones, check out the Forge (see button above).
