The business client I am working on has requested functionality that will allow a site admin - in this case an internal user - to look up any user on a portal - external user - and be able to emulate (i.e. see what they see) all while still being logged in as the internal user. This is so if anything changes, it will be logged as the internal user, even though they are see what the external user sees.

Has anyone ever worked with something like this before?

You would have to do some trickery with the forms Auth cookie and swap the roles from the external user to the internal user temporarily.  Havent heard of that being done before though.
