I noticed during the loading of a page of my DNN site there is a difference in IE and Firefox (and other browsers).

Firefox and other will show the page progressively, loading a part and showing it untill everything is loaded. IE however won't show a thing untill everything is loaded and only then shows the entire page. This can lead to long waiting times for example on a page that has google maps in it. The google maps sometimes load slow and the user will have to wait to see the page untill the google map has loaded. This problem does not arise in firefox.

Is there a setting with wich I can control this? I guess now the default behaviour is different for IE and FF but I should be able to set this behaviour explicitly right?

Any help appreciated.

this is different default behaviour of these browsers, and IMO there is no use of trying to interfere with it - except you like to get trouble ;)
