Is 4.5.3 being used on DNN.com?

If so would 4.5.3 be the culprit to the new issue where you start typing in the content pane and input all of a sudden switches to the subject pane?    Using FF 3.5.1.  Haven't seen this issue in the past - it just started a couple of weeks ago.  I've seen other users having the issue as well - you can tell by the random characters added to the end of a subject midway through a thread.

Sorry to bash the release on it's first day but this issue would be a showstopper in my opinion.

First off David thanks for the feedback. As an FYI, it will not be 2 years for a release and will likely be more like 2 months. As for the actual issues you saw I am (and have been) using the exact release you downloaded over at www.dnnforums.com and while some of the UI issues are subjective, I haven't seen any notification issues you mentioned or any 'bugs' not already listed as a known issue. That said, I honestly believe that the new version is far better than the previous public release.

That's good news Alex.

Thanks for the pointer, I read the announcement in the forums but not the blog.

  • Icons at the top still jump all over the place with the display, from vertical to horizontal and all mixes inbetween
  • Admin nav is better to use, unclear at first what is a link with no hover cursor - but this nav also jumps around with the formatting and makes it difficult and unclear what is selected (occassionally has large text appearing to left "Selected Menu Item", what options are there - just all over the place.  Noticed this most in "My Settings".

I'd guess that this is due to the theme you are using if you are not using the supplied one. Chris has made many, many changes to the theme. I've been running his 4.5.2 beta releases for some time and haven't seen this issue. For my site I have taken the supplied one and then altered it to closely resemble the Vista one previously supplied by Chris.

Cheers
Roger
