Hi there,
before i start my explanation please bare in mind that I am not an "expert" in DNN. I've been using it for quite some time now though so I think I might have a solution for you. Before you do anything please backup your files and database!
So...
The below is to MOVE the [dnn:login]:
1. you will need a web editor software like dreamweaver, contribute, microsoft visual web developer etc...
2. you will also need an FTP client. (I use Core FTP).
3 On your FTP browse to your dnn installation. The file you are looking for should be in this dir .../Portals/_default/Skins/MinimalExtropy/
4. Download/Open Index.ascx
If you are opening this file on a design view on the above softwares I mentioned then you should be able to see all the dnn tags. You can cut and paste the dnn tags anywhere you wish within the frames. I would suggest that you try a few options.I am sure that would do it for you.

The below is to RENAME the [dnn:login]
well I'll be honest I don't really know the solution to that. I would not personally go to the core code and figure out how to rename the login tag (because most likely I would just mess the whole thing up). It could be very simple but I will leave it to the more advanced experts here at the DNN forum.
The way I would do it is folliow the steps above, delete the [dnn:login] tag and replace it with my own text (i.e. Employee Intranet) and link that to the Login tab.
I hope all that helps.
Good luck.
