I did a fresh install of DNN 5.1.1, and I am not able to see certain labels in the Site Settings and Host Settings screens.  I checked to make sure that the resource files have the correct entries, but they just aren't showing where they should.  And again, this is a brand new fresh installation of DNN 5.1.1.

So all of the help text isn't showing either.  The plSearchEngine, plSiteMap, plVerification, plBanners, plSkinWidgestEnabled and all subsequent labels are not showing on the Admin->Site Settings screen.

Wow, I guess I'm alone on this one.  Well, I'm updating my server to .NET 3.5 SP1, maybe that's the cause of it.  I don't know.

Well, I have framework 3.5 SP1 installed now and reinstalled 5.1.1 from scratch again with the files available on the DNN download site.  For the life of me, I still cannot see those labels.  The whole reason why this came up was I tried to look at the portals list, and no portals appear in the list.  I thought that at LEAST the root portal should appear in the list.  It is not.  So when I click the button to add a new portal, only three of the labels appear out of the 12 fields you have to fill out to create a new portal.  Dang.. If anyone else has any suggestions, I'm open to them.  Version 4.X works great.  I may go back to the prior version.

So after a little more research and installing on another machine successfully to give myself a level of confidence that the code IS good :), I have found that it doesn't appear to be reading any of the local resource files in the DesktopModules\Admin\Portals\App_LocalResources folder for some reason.  Anyone have any ideas?

I've checked permissions on the folder, and I can edit the file in the Languages module.

Really, I could use some help.

Further research using processmonitor shows that DNN is trying to open up [site root]\desktopmodules\admins\app_localresources\sitesettings.ascx.resx.  This path is incorrect!  It should be trying to open [site root]\DesktopModules\Admin\Portals\App_LocalResources\SiteSettings.ascx.resx.

I am totally stumped as to where this path is coming from.  I have just done 3 brand-new fresh installs of DNN, so I barely have entered any settings yet this is wrong.

Looking through ProcessMonitor, I'm finding all KINDS of path errors.  What can be causing this?
