I was recently installing a module that I created. It worked fine on the original website but when I tried to install it on another DNN website for testing purposes, I received the following error:

Info Loading Uninstall.SqlDataProvider
Failure ExceptionSystem.IndexOutOfRangeException: Index was outside the bounds of the array. at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.ResourceInstaller.PaFile.GetTextEncodingType(Byte[] Buffer) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.ResourceInstaller.PaFile..ctor(ZipInputStream unzip, ZipEntry entry) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.ResourceInstaller.PaInstaller.ReadZipStream() at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.ResourceInstaller.PaInstaller.Install()

There seemed to be no posts about this problem and I thought that I should post my solution to this problem here so that other developers don't have to waste hours trying to solve it if they have the same issue. The problem was that the "Uninstall.SqlDataProvider" file that I included in the installation package either had a problem with the encoding or there is just a bug somewhere in the DNN version. All I needed to do to fix it was convert the file to UTF-8 format using a text editor like Notepad ++ and then the installation worked perfectly.

I hope this helps someone
