The problem is on the DB user role, You must give OWNER role to your DB user!

Hello,

The same problem was fond today during install DNN 5.2 on WinServer2008+SQL2008. DB user for dbDNN was owner but this not fix a problem. The install under SA account was succesfull.

In other words, this problem is for 100 % database permissions issue.

Regards,
Andrejs.

hi, i installed many dnn 4.9.x to my hosting server. This time i tried 5.2.2. and returns same error "Installing Database - Version 05.00.00...FAILURE 400 - The stored procedure 'dbo.UpdateDatabaseVersionAndName' doesn't exist." . I've created new DB and it is db owner. passed the tests, Now what could be the problem? isnt 5.x.x stable still? shall we use 4.9.x again?

during my install on godaddy, i received similar error.  first i thought it was related to database prefix, but it turned out i needed to check the box to install as the dbowner during the install.  the only way i could get back to the correct screen instead of the "run database installation scripts" page was to manually launch my browse page to start a new install. (e.g.  www.wxyz.com/dnn5)

I have the same error (when installing 05.02.03):
"Installing Database - Version 05.00.00...FAILURE 400 - The stored procedure 'dbo.UpdateDatabaseVersionAndName' doesn't exist."
( when i check the 'run as db owner' box. )

however, when i dont check the dbowner...
it seems to go ok for so long, i get lots of 'undefined...Success' 'undefined...Success' etc
but then nothing happens at all.

------------------------------------------------------------------
Installing Database - Version 05.00.00...
Success undefined...
Success undefined...
Success undefined...
Success undefined...
------------------------------------------------------------------

I have an existing site working ok,
but now i want to create another installation on another server, using the same database (as a development site)
- not sure if this is possible?
Alternatively, could i create an exact copy of this site (also using same database)?
