is there a chance that the HTML module is bugged or something in 5.1.1?

my problem is that every registered user can see and click the edit icon (pencil) when hovering over the module.

they can see and use the toolbar (update,save,bold,etc..) when they click the edit icon and can make changes to the text of the module. Ofc, the changes are not permenant. This happens to every  HTML module in my site even if i set the Permissions so that Registered Users have [X] on the "Edit Module" choice.

Is this a problem or I am doing something wrong?

Looks like this could be a bug. I was able to replicate the problem on a 5.1.1 test platform. As stated above, the user does see the edit icon and appears to be able to change text although changes do not get saved.

I see the issue is fixed and checked-in --- but my question is - is this module only available with the DNN 5.x install?  Or is there a separate module download that we can get sooner to upgrade for the fix?

I understand that the changes don't persist to the DB, but it's still ugly and un-nerving to clients.  I'd just like to get it fixed for them ASAP - cause the next DNN release probably won't be for a couple months.

Thanks for understanding!

I'm afraid you will have to wait for DNN 5.1.2
Sorry...
The flip side is that actually no damage is done. I suggest disabling the inline editor (I generally do this by default anyway).

Thanks...
