I am working with a DNN installation that has hundreds of portals, which will eventually turn into thousands portals, and the portal creation process is ridiculously slow.  Currently taking >5 minutes.

I have read that the ClearCache operations are the slow points of the method so I created a custom CreatePortal method that does not clear the cache, recompiled the DotNetNuke.dll, and tested it out.

Time to Create Portal:

Before Change: 5 minutes, 9 seconds.

After Change: 24 seconds.

What impacts will removing the Clear Cache methods have on the site?  The portal still seems to work fine after it is created...

Please Note: I consider creating a custom build of a 3rd party library the absolute last resort... Unfortunately, I've reached the last resort...

Thanks,

Tim
